About the Talk
Every family has stories worth preserving. But how do we research them and turn our discoveries into engaging narratives for future generations?
Drawing on his upcoming book, How to Write Family History: Confessions of an Accidental Historical Storyteller, author Shawn Seah will share practical approaches to researching and writing family history using interviews, photographs, documents, newspapers and other sources.
Drawing on his own journey of researching his family history, Shawn will also share his personal experiences, discoveries and challenges, including gaps in historical records and conflicting accounts. He will explore how our family stories contribute to the larger Singapore Story.
Open to the public, this talk welcomes both beginners and experienced family historians.
