There is a Hakka Tulou in Singapore? During this conducted tour (in English and Chinese), you will:

  • Hear the history of a Hakka association formed some 182 years ago
  • See the Hakka Tulou (round building) and columbarium
  • Understand the genealogy and ancestral praying rituals of Hakka families
  • Reflect upon the pathways experienced by Hakka ancestors in the context of our multiracial society

Many of our members do not know there is a Hakka Round Building in Singapore and were very interested in visiting one. GSS organised a visit to the Fong Yong Thai Ancestral Hall (三邑祠). It was coordinated by our Life Member Mr Liew Shin Liat, together with the President of Nanyang Hakka Federation and the Vice-President of Fong Yun Thai Association Mr Ivan Ho
