This sharing session introduces how Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools can support individuals in documenting and preserving their family stories. The speaker will share practical experiences and demonstrate how commonly available AI tools can be used to organise memories, enhance storytelling, and overcome writer’s block when writing family histories.

Participants will gain a basic understanding of AI and how it can be applied in a meaningful and ethical way for personal storytelling. The session is designed for beginners and does not require any prior technical knowledge.

By the end of the session, participants will:

  • Be familiar with popular AI tools such as ChatGPT, DeepSeek, and Gemini
  • Understand how AI can assist in researching, structuring, and writing family stories
  • Learn how to craft effective prompts to guide AI tools for better writing outcomes
