13-14 July 2019, jointly arranged by Mr Tan Koon Siang, President of Keng Teck Whay and the Society, Committee Members went for a cultural heritage Tour to Malacca. It covered a few heritage sites:

Day 1:
(A) Hong Soon ancestral hall (Rumah Abu) of Tan Kim Seng in Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock, guided by Tan Kim Seng’s descendants Annie Tan and Sherman Ong. It houses the portraits of Tan Kim Seng and his four sons and the Tan family ancestral tablets;
(B) Chee Mansion, the ancestral hall of the Chee family, named after Chee Yam Chuan (hence called the Chee Yam Chuan Temple), the most notable forbear of the Chee family;
(C) Dinner was hosted by Mr Alfred Chee with his Chee and Lee families at Peranakan Association.

Day 2:
(A) Talk by a genealogist Dr Philip Tan on the history & methodology of Chinese genealogy;
(B) Josephine Chua was our guide at Cheng Hoon Teng Temple. Founded in the 1600s, it is the oldest temple in our region. Josephine is the direct descendant of Kapitan Chua Su Cheong who let the reconstruction of the temple in 1801.
